LaLiga and Lanzadera, Juan Roig’s startup accelerator linked to Marina de Empresas, signed an agreement this Tuesday to innovate in the football sector. The agreement will allow the selection of innovative companies to accompany LaLiga and its clubs on their path to transform the world of sports and entertainment.
LaLiga wants to find companies that innovate in the stadium of the future and that have developed new technologies to improve efficiency and performance in stadiums in areas such as mobility, sustainability, hospitality or security. It also seeks to improve interaction with fans, with the idea of creating new business models to increase fan loyalty and interaction.
From the audiovisual point of view, new experiences are needed in the consumption of sports content and forms of monetization and also companies that use artificial intelligence for decision-making in areas such as audience analysis, fan campaign management, smart pricing, sports performance, tactical analysis or process automation.
The selected entrepreneurs will develop a proof of concept for at least four months and will have the support of professionals from LaLiga and Lanzadera, who will accompany them in the development and execution of their projects. In addition, they will have an economic bag destined to cover all the needs for the validation of the pilot.
The chosen startups will have a workspace both in the Lanzadera offices, located in the Marina de Empresas de Valencia, and in the LaLiga corporate centers. Entrepreneurs will have access to a large network of contacts and will be able to attend events and presentations of the entrepreneurial and investor ecosystem of Marina de Empresas, according to both entities in a statement.
The registration period for the LaLiga corporate is now open and will end on November 8. The call is open to all types of startups, regardless of their degree of maturity, which can submit their application through the Lanzadera website.
“At LaLiga we work with the conviction that technology and innovation are essential to improve the experience of fans in the world of sports and entertainment. And who better than entrepreneurs, through the Lanzadera project in this case, to generate ideas and projects that provide solutions to clubs ”, stated Óscar Mayo, executive general director of LaLiga.
“It is a privilege that LaLiga, a benchmark in the sports industry worldwide, has trusted us in the search for innovative solutions for such a competitive sector that is followed by millions of people. I am sure that the agreement will help the entity and the football clubs to have access to new technologies that allow them to enhance their efficiency and their proximity to the fans ”, added Javier Jiménez, general director of Lanzadera.‘
LaLiga is a private sports association, made up of the 20 football clubs or societies of LaLiga Santander and the 22 of LaLiga SmartBank, responsible for the organization of professional and national football competitions. In the 2019/2020 season, LaLiga reached 2.8 billion people around the world. Headquartered in Madrid, it is present in 41 countries through 11 offices and 44 delegates.
