Great opportunities can be found in crises. New companies are in a good moment to solve the needs of consumers while helping to revive the economy. But, given that to succeed in a globalized world it is essential to use digital tools, Google has launched a program in Mexico that is looking for startups with potential to train them and make their businesses succeed.
Through its Google for Startups Accelerator Mexico initiative, the company will support startups in Latin America that have a global mindset and whose focus is oriented to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning (ML).
All accepted startups will receive mentoring and support from Google’s global network of mentors not only in AI and ML, but also in Cloud, UX, Android and Google Play, Web, Product Strategy and Marketing.
“Google for Startups Accelerator for Latin America is a three-month program focused on Seed to Series technology startups, jointly run by Google Developers and Centraal. Participants gain access to the best of Google, its people, network and advanced technologies, to help create better products,” the company explains on its website.
Among the benefits that selected companies receive are: three months of assistance; mentoring from more than 20 Google teams; design, marketing and leadership training; strategic support; business and product strategy support; early access to new Google tools; networking with Google’s network of industry experts; hands-on training in Google tools for entrepreneurs and their teams.
Training for all
While only select companies are eligible for the full benefits of Startups Accelerator, through Startup School, entrepreneurs and their teams have the opportunity to get training on Google tools that can support the growth of startups.
Throughout 11 live classes, lasting 1.5 hours each, and distributed in content modules for six weeks, participants will have access to practical and exclusive content on tools and strategies that can help them in the development of their startups, said Google.
To register for these classes it is necessary to fill out the form with information about the startup. Subsequently, confirmation will be sent via email, and then you must register for the sessions.
Among the topics that will be addressed in the next training sessions are: Google Ads, Search, Google Display, How to advertise on YouTube, Analytics, Cloud, Tag Manager and Data Studio.
Some success stories
In the Summer 2020 edition of the Google for Startups Accelerator LATAM, which was conducted entirely virtually, the company chose 12 Latin American startups to support them in their development.
The program received more than 230 applications, and was left with only a dozen companies that stood out for their talent and ability to create global solutions to problems present in the region.
The companies belong to market segments such as retail, education, banking and finance, professional services (human resources), and health and biotechnology. From Mexico the startups that participated were: Canasta Rosa, a platform for people to share and sell their creations, services and content, and for buyers to discover and learn about those creations; Collective Academy, offers master’s degree programs and corporate education with the goal of really preparing students for the future; Listopro, helps Mexican companies attract and hire the most competitive and hard-to-find talent as quickly as possible; Moons, offers orthodontic treatments using 3D printing technology at an affordable price; Smart Lending, a financial service that aims to make getting a mortgage as easy as getting a credit card.
